The biogas resulting from anaerobic digestion can be used as a renewable fuel for the drive of a CHP (combined heat and power), for example, where the gas is burned in a gas engine. Here green energy is produced, in addition to heat. This heat can be used to keep the reactors at temperature or has other applications on the farm.
